The Lakehead Junior Hockey League is out with the home openers of all five clubs.
The Current River Storm begin defence of the Joe Ward Memorial Trophy against the Thunder Bay Bandits on Thursday, October 10th. Their home opener will take place on Saturday, October 12th against the Thunder Bay Northern Hawks.
The Northern Hawks call the Fort William Gardens home for the second consecutive year as they skate with the Schreiber Falcons on Tuesday, October 8th.
The Nipigon Elks will play their home opener against the Schreiber Falcons on Friday, October 11th.
The Falcons will be the last team to open their home schedule as they will go head-to-head with the Storm on Saturday, November 2nd.
The league has plans for a Showcase event, though specific details have yet to be released.

All five teams will qualify for the playoffs with the fourth and fifth seeds playing a best-of-three quarterfinal.
The winner will face off with the top seed in the league semifinals with the other two teams engaging in a best of seven series.
The league winner advances to the Central Canada Cup in April.
The Bandits, Northern Hawks and Storm play their home games on the traditional territory of the Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850.
The Elks play on the traditional territory of the Robinson-Superior Treaty, home to the Red Rock Indian Band, the Anishinabek, and the Métis People.
The Falcons are honoured to be on the traditional territory of the Anishinabewaki.
