The Thunder Bay Northern Hawks (5-2-2-0) opened a home-and-home series Friday with a 10-4 thrashing of the Nipigon Elks. 

Thunder Bay Kings AAA affiliate Eric Sheriff notched the hat trick while newly signed Jaidyn Nguyen added a pair as did Matthew Himenen.

Alex Lemarquand, Jack Michaelis and Kaiden McKay also scored for the Northern Hawks.  Liam Middleton added three assists.

The Northern Hawks return home for the finale of the series tonight at Tournament Center. Puck drop scheduled for 8:00 PM.
